How does a musician read an image of the rain? What are the ways we can expand what musical notation is, and what kind of sounds become possible when we push those boundaries?

Have you ever wondered about how composers in the 20th and 21st century have explored new ways of notating sound? Come to Beaver Point Hall on October 18th for an Of Sound Minds' 4'33 club to explore interactive sound making.

All experiences welcome!

Beginning with a short introductory lecture on what a graphic score even is, Arie and Joi will then lead a play through of some existing graphic notation, and open the floor to the participants to build and perform your own graphic scores.

Bring your own acoustic instrument/sound making source, or use one we provide to engage in creating.

Art supplies provided.
